One of the main concerns of good leaders is if the communication in the organisation is timely, accurate, relevant for the chosen audience and understandable. In places, where these parameters are ensured in official / unofficial communication, engagement and productivity scores are better.

Usually, employee engagement surveys are done annually, once in two years or longer and in some places, its never done. In some places, a mid year survey is done to see if the measures are yielding results.

We believe that the workplace is too dynamic, to be monitored over relatively large intervals.

Every month, on a given date, a specially designed survey will be rolled out. The survey will close as soon as the first 100 respondents take the survey.

The findings will be compiled; segregated and the emerging themes (`flavor of the month’) will be shared with the Business and HR Leadership team.

When we close the survey at 100 respondents every time, the randomness of the respondent group is ensured. Else, there is predictability in the respondent group.

Likely benefit

The Business gets a quick snapshot of the health of the organisation every month. With more leading indicators in the survey, it should provide additional time for the Business / HR to take action.

What if its not done ?

  • The HR / Business Leadership team is not aware of the pulse of the organisation or the immediate impact of any announcement / decision.
  • The HR team runs wit h the onus / ownership of ensuring a `high quality’ communication.

About 2 days of pre work to design and validate the list of questions. 15 mins of employee time every month to respond + 1 day every month to prepare the analysis and the report for the Business / HR to review.
